An OPE or Over Perfect Evolution is a special kind of evolution.

It is the way to get the familiars with the highest stats possible. For instance, an OPE 400 / POPE Odin Stormgod II will have around 14,929 Wisdom, while a PE one will only have around 14,263 Wisdom.

To fully understand this tutorial, we recommend you read first the Evolution article in order to acquire the basics of evolution. The Wiki's Glossary may also help you understand the terms used in this article.

Creating the Perfect Familiar

Notes

  • As for any other evolution, be sure to train your familiars to the maximum level before evolution, especially for the seeds.
  • The strongest familiar should always be the spawn. Seed can be equal or less than spawn.
  • The seeds always need to be crystallized (50 Crystals per familiar).

Evolution Formula

1 represents one 1-star familiar. The * symbol represent a familiar that needs to be crystallized and at maximum level (the seeds).

Which OPE is Right for Me?

A graphical representation of the above chart shows that there are clear points of diminishing returns when building an OPE familiar. By far the largest gain comes at the 50 crystal point, as you retain all 500 added stat points through final evolution. Many consider a 200 OPE to be ideal for a familiar you're interested in getting the maximum play benefit from, as the stats gain from 200 to 400 crystals is only 16 points.

Boost

When considering how many crystals to use on your familiar, many players recommend the following:

  • If you intend to use your familiar in your brigade for any length of time, adding at least 50 crystals makes sense.
  • For a strong familiar you intend to use for a longer period of time, to compete most effectively (especially in PvP) you may want to increase the number of crystals used as much as you can afford...up to a 200 OPE. 
  • After 200 crystals, the stats boost benefit is quite negligible in terms of gameplay. One reason you might want to build a 400 crystal (POPE) familiar, however, is resale value in the bazaar. Many top players with many resources seek only POPE familiars, and will often pay a significant premium for them. Keep in mind that these players are only looking for high-value familiars (see Familiar Tier List for a good general idea of value), 


8-Cards (****) Evolution

An OPE can have different results, depending on the number of crystals used. The number of crystal may vary from 0 (PE) to 400 (POPE). The following examples are the most common evolutions found in the game.

OPE 400 / POPE

  1. All R1 Familiars must be crystallized with 50 crystal each (as illustrated in Green, +500 stats)
  2. Levelled all R1 to level 70
  3. Evolution to 4 x R2 (+550 stats)

  5. The two EP3 Familiars must be leveled to level 99
  6. Evolution to EP4 (+665.5 stats)

Caution! It is possible to make a mistake here by swapping Spawn and Seed!

  1. Max out all 8xR1 to lvl 70
  2. Evolve 2xR1 into 1xR2, crystal it - become 1xR2* (as illustrated in yellow, +500 stats)
  3. Add crystals to 2xR1 - become 2xR1* (as illustrated in Green, +500 stats)
  4. Evolve 2xR1* into 1xR2 (+550 stats) and immediately evolve again with R2* as seed into EP3 (+600 stats)
  5. Max out the EP3 to lvl 99
  6. Add crystals to 4xR1 - become 4xR1* (as illustrated in Red, +500 stats)
  7. Evolve the 4xR1* into EP3 (+605 stats)
  8. Make sure both EP3 are maxed to level 99 and evolve to EP4


OPE 300

FAQ

  1. When to crystallize the spawn?
    Since the crystallized stats will be carried over from spawn to the next level, it is ok that you leave it to whenever at your convenience.
  2. Then why doesn't the tutorial CC spawn at the final form?
    The tutorial is built based on the least error possible method. This is to ensure that at any level of evolution the seed & spawn are easily distinguish by the following clause: "The strongest familiar should always be the spawn. Seed can be equal or less than spawn."
  3. Isn't that easier when I just crystallize the seed?
    Yes you can but please pay attention on the evolution as most of the time you will be ended up to have higher stats on the seed than spawn. Make sure you know what you're doing.
  4. Then why doesn't the tutorial CC seed at each level?

  5. I still confuse which one should be the spawn and the seed, the stronger or the weaker or doesn't matter because the result still the same?
    The sequence to determine the seed/spawn relationship is:
  • The crystallized & fully levelled up one should be the seed
  • The fully levelled up one should be the seed
  • If both fully levelled, the one with the highest un-crystallized stats should be the spawn
  • If same, the one with the highest skill level should be the spawn
  • If same... doesn't matter
